How KotPC works

Every day we read the websites of the Mauritius computer shops we monitor and put their prices side by side.

   We check each shop's website

   Once a day we read every listing and keep its price with the time we checked it.

2. 02

   We match the exact product

   Each listing is matched to one product by its name and specifications, then grouped by chip or key spec, so you compare like with like.

3. 03

   Only fresh, clear prices rank

   A price ranks if it's the shop's cash or card price for one new item, checked in the last 48 hours. Older prices are hidden. Out-of-stock, unclear and on-request listings sit below, unranked.

4. 04

   Local stock and imports are kept apart

   Local stock is what the shop reports; we don't check its shelves. Import-on-demand prices are listed separately. Confirm with the shop before you go.

5. 05

   VAT

   Prices are compared as the shop lists them. If a shop doesn't say whether VAT is included, the price is marked “VAT not stated”. Prices before VAT aren't ranked.

6. 06

   Independent

   KotPC doesn't sell anything. Shops don't pay to be listed or ranked, and there are no ads.
